As we step into the month of December, I am overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude and anticipation. This month, we declare it to be our month of dancing – a time to rejoice, celebrate, and find reasons to dance every single day. No matter what challenges may arise, we choose joy, and we choose to dance.
Personally, I have committed to setting aside a dedicated time to dance each day before laying down. I invite you all to join me in this challenge. It’s not too late to embrace the rhythm of joy and let it guide us through December. Dance, dance, dance your way through this month, letting each step be a testament to your celebration of life!
Our theme for December draws inspiration from the Bible, where the Bible speaks of dance as a form of celebration and gratitude. The first mention of dance in Exodus 15:20 recounts Miriam’s dance of liberation when the children of Israel were set free. They danced in celebration, expressing their thanks to the Lord.
Psalm 149:3 reminds us to praise His name with dancing, and Ecclesiastes 3:4 acknowledges that there is indeed a time to dance. Our season has come, and this December is designated as our season to dance. But how are we walking through this season of dancing?
Here are five compelling reasons why we dance:
- As a means to praise God. (Psalm 149:3): Our dance is a means of praising the Almighty.
- As a means of gratitude for what God is doing: We dance in gratitude for the incredible things God is doing in our lives.
- To express joy: Through dance, we express the joy that overflows from our hearts.
- To celebrate with others: We dance not only for ourselves but to celebrate with our community.
- To pull the weight of depression down.: Dance has the power to lift the weight of depression, offering a release through rhythmic movement and uplifting music.
In the midst of our dance, we acknowledge the profound impact of music on our spirits. Music has the power to pull the weight of depression and uplift our souls. As we dance, we celebrate God’s mercy, grace, and faithfulness for carrying us through every storm.
Ecclesiastes 3:4 teaches us about the various seasons of life, including a time to mourn and a time to dance. As we approach the end of 2023, we, the Beauties of Eden community, are declaring this season to be one of dancing. We choose to end our year on a joyful note.
So, why Dancing December? Simply because God has done so much for us, and we cannot tell it all. This month is an intentional celebration of life, grace, and countless blessings. Regardless of our circumstances, we find reasons to dance.
As you read this, I encourage you to put together your favorite playlist and get ready to dance your way through the rest of the year. What will be your reason for dancing this December?
Regardless of the state of the economy or our bank accounts, we will find reasons to dance. We will count 365 reasons – one for each day of the year. God has protected us from diagnoses, accidents, bad news, spiritual attacks and so on. So, don’t think that God has failed you just because your circumstances haven’t aligned with your desires.
As you read this, I invite you to reflect on your reasons for dancing this December. Let the music play, let your heart rejoice, and let us dance our way through the rest of the year, celebrating the goodness of our God.
With love and joy,
Annette Dei
